About

To those of you who do not know me, I go by the name “Sashidhar Kokku”. I am 1979 born (calculate my age if you want, I am not publishing it here anyway). I was born in India, came over to the United States on August 2001. I finished my Masters in Computer Science from Syracuse University in 2003, and enrolled for a 2nd masters in Computer Engineering. I managed to complete all the coursework for my 2nd masters, but got a full-time job before my final semester ended…ended up not completing my project. That officially makes me a drop out….which if history is any indication…means…I am destined for great things :)

I joined the workforce in 2004 August, and have been in a total of 2 jobs (including my current one so far). I currently work as a Technical Manager for Medical Management at ikaSystems Corp. I have been here for almost 7 years (as of Jan 14, 2012). Started off my career as a developer, and still love to code. I manage to crank out some kick ass code even now.  I have a flair for design…though I am still an amateur at all the graphic tools.

I live in Massachusetts with my lovely wife (Priya Sashidhar) and a wonderful daughter (Sanjana Sashidhar). Yes, their last names are Sashidhar. You are welcome to wonder about how for a while. I shall explain the mechanics later…maybe in a blog post.

Since we both come from different backgrounds (language wise), we speak English primarily at home. Quite frowned upon by our elders, but hey … what the heck. I am an agnostic, leaning more towards atheism. I like and try to live a simple, clean and organized life (No…I do not have any OCD’s). I have a five-head for now, and I am guessing I am going to lose all my hair by 2018.

Few other things about me :

  • I come from a family, where food is extra spicy (sweat when you eat spicy), but I cannot handle as much spice.
  • I love technology, and can spend countless hours tinkering with it.
  • I love movies…every genre except chick-flicks (yes, it’s a genre in my books).
  • I love books … the non-fiction kind.
  • I love food…and I eat almost any kind.
  • I like cooking, though I leave it to my wife to fix the concoction I make.
